The Westerscheldetunnel is the most important link between the provinces of Zeeland (NL), Flanders in Belgium and West-Brabant (NL). 15,000 vehicles use the 6.6 km tunnel every day.
The technology used in the control centre for the “Tolplein” (toll gate) was out of date and maintenance was becoming increasingly difficult. It was time to upgrade and refurbish in order to guarantee safety, accessibility and customer satisfaction for the coming years.
Based on findings from an Ergos ergonomic research, Creon drew up a total plan for the interior and carried out the installation too.
The control centre was completely refurbished in 4 months. Technology was brought up to date, the interior was modernized and new 24/7 furniture with improved ergonomics was installed.
