“It felt right from the very beginning, and that feeling never went away.” With a smile, Dave Vromans (42) talks about his eight years at CREON. Over time, he grew from an all-round mechanic into a key member of the Service & Operations team. His story is not only about craftsmanship but also about joy at work, team spirit, and the freedom to grow. Because at CREON, it’s not just about technology, it’s about the people who make it all possible.
From process industry to control room design
Before joining CREON, Dave worked in the process industry. Installation work was completely new to him. “My first impression? Overwhelming. Everything we make here is solid, robust, and designed for 24/7 use.”
He first heard about CREON through a friend, and after two interviews, he knew it was the right fit. “It immediately felt right. There was a great atmosphere: no distance between people, but real collaboration. That instantly appealed to me.”
Service & Operations: where technology meets people
In his current role, Dave is responsible for service requests, work preparation, and customer communication. “When something isn’t working, I try to solve it as quickly as possible: by phone or email. A desk that’s not functioning properly has an immediate impact on the operator.”
What he enjoys most about his job is the variety and teamwork. “No two days are the same. We solve problems together, think along with our clients, and help each other whenever needed. That team spirit is what defines CREON. You’re never on your own.”
Growing through initiative and curiosity
CREON is known for giving employees the freedom to develop themselves, and Dave is no exception. During a feedback meeting, he mentioned he wanted to better support the engineers. “I noticed that sometimes the technicians had questions that interrupted the engineers’ work. I figured there had to be a smarter way.”
Instead of waiting for change, he took the initiative himself. “With my hands-on experience, I started learning SolidWorks to master 3D design. That’s how I gradually grew into a new role, right at the intersection of technology, execution, and coordination.”
At CREON, initiative is rewarded, and that makes a real difference, Dave says. “You’re given trust and the freedom to experiment. That’s what makes you look forward to coming to work every day.”
Proud of projects and people
Of all the projects Dave has worked on, one stands out: ITER, a large-scale international control room project. “I got to help with the installation myself. When you finally see the result after weeks of preparation, you can’t help but feel proud. Especially knowing we achieved it together.”
That word “together” comes up often in his story. “At CREON, everyone is involved. From engineering to assembly, from sales to service: we move forward as one team. You can really feel that connection in everything we do.”
What makes CREON special
“The best thing about CREON? The people,” Dave says without hesitation. “It’s a small, close-knit company where everyone knows each other. You can truly be yourself here. People care about one another, there’s laughter, and there’s always room to improve at what you do.”
And what would he say to someone considering joining CREON?
“Just go for it! You’ll learn a lot, get plenty of opportunities, and work on projects you can truly be proud of. Most importantly, you’ll work with people who give their all. Together.”
