The new building of the PEREX Traffic Centre in Daussoulx was completed in 2019. The five-floor building combines modern architecture with sustainability by keeping energy requirements to a minimum. CREON installed 35 SPLIT workstations and 2 work islands with integrated cabinet space in the control room of the traffic centre.
Control of water and road networks
Traffic centre PEREX 4.0 is located at the Daussoulx interchange. From here, the Federal Road Police and its partners monitor and manage the traffic situation on the main roads in Wallonia. In addition, the waterway network has been newly added to the control centre. The nerve centre of the Walloon traffic control centre is the permanence room. Here, traffic and engineering operators, road police and radio operators exchange information that is passed on to teams in the field and road users.
High-demand workstation
Highest demands were placed on the equipment of the PEREX centre. “CREON contributed to the success of setting up the checkpoints within a very short period of time,” says Ir. Baptiste Buxant of SPW. “CREON’s cooperation with other suppliers was excellent. Before and during the installation, CREON was very collaborative, from the design to the implementation of the technical aspects.”

Thanks to the newly installed fibre-optic connection, situations on the water and road networks can be monitored in real time. The operators behind the SPLIT workstations centralise camera footage, answer emergency calls and provide information to various channels, such as websites and Infotrafic. “The CREON furniture is highly appreciated by the users,” says Ir. Baptiste Buxant.
